* We have been reviewing our E’Hawk boundaries: Respect Yourself, Respect Others, and Respect this Place.
Things to Work on:
*Counting money with dimes, nickels, and pennies.
What we have been up to:
Reading: This week we worked on the beginning sounds: str-, spl-, and scr-. We also worked with contractions with not. Our theme this week was about family time. We discussed some of the things we enjoy doing with our family.
Math:This week we worked with the hundreds grid. We worked on breaking apart 100 into dollar amounts. Students also worked on noticing patterns that are 10 more or 10 less. We learned on adding 10 from any number and how the tens place increases by one.
Science/ Social Studies: We started a new social studies unit on our country. This week we talked about George Washington and the Pledge of Allegiance. We learned about several vocabulary words: settler, colony, freedom, flag, and pledge.
