U (Using Manipulatives)- Memory with fractions

I (Indpendently Working)- Greater Than and Less Than problems

L (Learning with Numbers)- Completing unfinished problem solving papers from our math folders

D-(Doing Math)- Scootpad on the computers

Week in Review:

Reading:

This week in reading we continued learning about the bossy r’s.  This week we are focusing on the sound for /er/ /ir/ and /ur/.  We practiced a game on the smartboard in which we sorted short bossy r’s. 

Math:

This week we started a new math unit.  We have been working with counting multiple coins.  Please work with your child at home to count pennies, nickels, and dimes. 

Science:

We started our new unit on plants.  We have learned about the parts of the plant.  We have also started learning about ways that seeds can travel.

Notes:   

-We had a great week of testing!  Students worked hard all week long.  Thank you for all your help with getting them to bed early and making sure they eat a good breakfast. 

-Our field trip is Tuesday, April 8.  Please make sure your child brings boots and shoes that day.  We do some walking in the woods which are muddy.  Then we go to a museum in which we need our shoes.
