your child wear good walking shoes and dress in layers. If you signed up for your child to bring a
cold lunch from home please send things in reusable containers.

J Reading books for fun!
What we
have been up to:
Reading: This week we practiced
some track meet words for fun. Next week
will be our last spelling test for the year.
During our reading time we completed some end of year assessments and
began putting our portfolios together.
Math: This week we finished
our last math unit. We will take our
test next week. Students really enjoyed this
unit on measurement.
Science/ Social Studies: We have started our new
social studies unit on meeting people.
We have discussed the new vocabulary word: immigrant. This week students worked with a partner to
compare a different country to Iowa.
Some examples of countries that students are comparing are: Madagascar,
Nigeria, Mexico, and Canada. We are
comparing food, land, clothing, and holidays.
